St. Paul CES

Welcome to St. Paul CES! This is your home for everything related to walking/wheeling to school. Click the school on the map for more information!

For help using the map, check out the ‘map instructions’ and ‘map legend’ located below the map.

St. Paul has an active school community – Nearly 100% of students that live within a 10-minute walk from school, use active transportation on a regular basis. Many families who live further away have pledged to park a 5-minute walk from the school to support safe arrival and dismissal for all. Our neighbourhood is home to two elementary schools, so in the morning and afternoon, there are many people using the sidewalks, crosswalks, and paths to get to their destinations.

In Spring 2023, the St. Paul CES parent community participated in a survey to highlight ways that families can support safe school arrival and departure. This included identifying locations where children can be safely and conveniently dropped off. They said:

  • Paramount Alliance Church parking lot – 1.5min walk
  • Athenia Drive – 1.5min walk
  • Paramount Park parking lot – 3 minute walk

On June 16, St. Paul CES students took part in the first ever “Footprint Project” – an event intended to raise awareness of students walking/rolling near the school, and to encourage more active transportation modes. The event was featured on CHCH News. Read about it here: https://www.chch.com/footprint-project-decorates-a-stoney-creek-schools-sidewalks/

Information about the Footprint Project was sent to families, click here to see it: https://dailyschoolroute.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/St.-Paul-CES-Student-Zone-1.png
