Our Lady of Peace CES

Welcome to Our Lady of Peace CES! This is your home for everything related to walking/wheeling to school. Click the school on the map for more information! For help using the map, check out the ‘map instructions’ and ‘map legend’ located below the map.

Our Lady of Peace is an active school community – more than half of students within 1.6km from school, use active transportation (walk, bike, etc.) to get to school regularly. This means that in the morning and afternoon, you’ll see many families using the streets, parks, and pathways in our neighbourhood to get to their destinations.

Past activities:

During 2022-2023 school year, OLOP students earned a tree planted in their neighbourhood, by walking/rolling to school. In April, students who used active transportation added a leaf to their Move to Grow tree in the library. When the tree was completed, a tree was planted along a route to school. Way to go Eco Club!

In Spring 2022, members of the OLOP school community participated in a survey to identify how students are getting to school, the routes they take, and the barriers they face along the way. Below are the results of the survey which include:

  • Footprint map: This map shows all of the routes that were submitted in the survey
  • Infographic: The infographic is a summary of responses from the community. Percentages shown indicate proportion of respondents.
